Luxury Mallorca Tours & Vacations

Mallorca’s stunning coast is what draws visitors above all else. While there may be some built-up resorts, the beaches still have plenty of appeal, with pine-dotted bays in the north and chalk white sands with sparkling seas in the south. It’s an ideal place for sunset strolls to the rhythm of cicadas followed by delicious eats in a restaurant that’s open to the stars.

Why we love private tours of Mallorca

A crown jewel in the Mediterranean when it comes to beach holidays, Mallorca is the largest of the collection of islands that sit off Spain’s east coast. While it enjoys the same alluring turquoise waters that Ibiza is known for, the landscapes offer a lot more from the spectacular Serra de Tramuntana Mountains along the northern coast to the blankets of green found inland, dotted with almond, olive, and carob groves. There are soulful hill towns while the medieval hill town of Palma is a star, with its majestic palaces, soaring cathedrals, enticing squares, and charming streets. Combined with delicious food, great wine, and a nonstop party in the summer, it’s hard to beat. Even when the tourists swarm in August, there are pockets of tranquility to be found by hiking to hilltop villages or peddling through intriguing stone villages.

What to do in Mallorca

  • Discover Es Trenc, Mallorca’s Most Beautiful Beach

Es Trench is one of Mallorca’s most famous beaches thanks to its striking beauty which includes dunes and bright, soft white sands that extend over one-and-a-half miles. It boasts crystal-clear Caribbean blue waters that are calm and shallow, ideal for swimming. It’s unspoiled by development, with no big hotels or dozens of restaurants, as it sits within a natural park. There are a number of marked sections for naturists although most visitors wear swimsuits. As the water is so shallow, it’s not popular for water sports, but children can splash around while adults enjoy the serene atmosphere and jaw-dropping views.

  • Enjoy Wine Tasting in Binissalem

Mallorca has a rich wine history with Binissalem the heart of one of the Balearic Islands’ capital of wine production. You’ll find an excellent selection of wineries for touring and tasting right here as well as in the surrounding villages. Binissalem itself is home to Vins Nadal which produces Albaflor wines and hosts a summer concert series. Founded in 1932, it’s been run by the same family for decades. Also in this region is Can Piza Boutique Winery, a 17th-century organic winery offering special wine experiences in the gardens during the warmer months and by a roaring fire in winter.

  • Take a Scenic Ride on the Narrow-Gauge train From Palma to Soller

Hop on a vintage 1920s train for a memorable journey on a restored wooden, narrow-gauge railway that travels 17 miles from Palma to Soller. It heads north through the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains for a picturesque journey passing not only spectacular mountain scenery but olive and orange groves, and pretty villages. Once in Soller, you can grab a beverage and explore the art nouveau architecture, including the beautiful Sant Bartomeu Church. Or take the tram, a charming early 20th-century piece of engineering with polished wood and gleaming brass, to Port de Soller to enjoy the seaside and perhaps have lunch before returning to Palma.

  • Visit Mallorca’s Oldest Town: Alcudia

Located along the north coast, Alcudia was founded in pre-Christian times nearly two thousand years ago by the Romans. Its historic center is surrounded by a massive wall as a medieval gem and a must to explore. Parts of the city gates remain well-preserved and from the old fortification one can take in a magnificent view. Stroll the narrow, winding streets viewing facades that reveal Roman and Moorish influences, and stop at Placa Espanya to see the Renaissance-style Casa Consistorial town hall. The 13th-century Orati de Santa Anna church is one of the oldest buildings that still stand, rising at the wall’s southern edge.

When to visit Mallorca

Most visitors to Mallorca arrive in the summer to enjoy a beach escape, but the mild winters with pleasant temperatures make it a year-round destination. July and August are the busiest months with as much as 10 hours of sunshine and very little rain, but April/May and September/October are ideal for avoiding the biggest crowds while enjoying sightseeing and comfortable weather.
