Camp Okavango Overview

Camp Okavango is known for its peaceful safari experiences, with space for only 24 guests in 11 safari suites and one family suite with two bedrooms. All suites are en-suite bathrooms, spread among the trees to provide plenty of privacy. Its location on remote Nxaragha Island in the permanent delta makes it unique as a year-round wilderness experience where vast lawns lead down to the water with hippos that snort throughout the night.

Experienced guides conduct water-based activities on reed-lined waterways, exploring in traditional mokoros or modern motorboats. Guided bush walks bring closer encounters with larger species on islands nearby, and there are plenty of bird watching and angling opportunities. As it is a water-based camp, while there are game-viewing activities, game drives using safari vehicles aren’t possible. One of the highlights is being able to sip a chilled drink at the bar which sits in the middle of a lagoon, tended by a wading bartender.
