Kanana Camp Overview

Located in the southwest of the Okavango Delta, Kanana is a hidden gem along the Xudum River, an area that’s home to a wealth of flora and fauna, with a habitat that makes it ideal for experiencing the region’s diversity of species.

This luxurious tented camp provides year-round land and water activities without standing game viewing. It’s in an area that encompasses a string of island jewels dotted with figs, palms, knobthorn and ebony trees, home to numerous plants and animals while offering mokoro trips, boating, walking, and game drives. The Thapagadi Lagoon is home to an incredible heronry where yellow-billed and yellow-billed storks next with a wide variety of herons, pelicans, egrets, cormorants, and darters, providing sounds and sights you won’t soon forget. At night, the illuminated lanterns scattered about and the fire blazing in the boma creates an enchanting atmosphere for exchanging stories of the day underneath a brilliant starry sky, paired with the grunts of the hippos. In fact, you’ll fall asleep in your comfortable tent to the sounds of the hippos splashing and munching just outside and then wake up to the songs of the birds
