Of course, being in the same country, it is easier to combine a Kenya safari with the Kenyan coast (and vice versa for Tanzania), but there are draws to both destinations. Of course, the Kenyan coast is beautiful and idyllic, with white sand beaches and an overall, very clean and scenic landscape. I would argue the beaches on the Kenyan coast are better than some in Zanzibar, and less affected by the tides. That said, Zanzibar Island is very rich in history and culture, and has the capital city of Stone Town which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site – so arguably, there is more to do in Zanzibar.

For many people, being on the beach is a time to relax and enjoy the downtime (quite often after the safari).
