Honeymoons in the Seychelles

Often found at the top of the world’s most romantic destination lists, the Seychelles even brought royals Prince William and Kate Middleton to honeymoon here. Made up of 115 jewel-like islands encircled by powder sugar-like sandy beaches framed by unbelievably clear turquoise water with lush rainforest, unique wildlife, and luxurious resorts, it’s hard to beat.

You could easily spend your days lounging on pristine sands, but you’ll find plenty of things to do together for an unforgettable honeymoon on popular islands like Mahe, La Digue and Praslin.

Snorkel Vibrant Reefs with Turtles and Exotic Fish

While many of the world’s reefs have been bleached out and over-fished. The Seychelles offers pristine coral and abundant marine life like colourful fish and rays, easily reached right from the sand, or by boat. Have you ever wanted to snorkel or swim alongside sea turtles? You can do just that throughout the islands. Watching them glide through the water or feasting on seagrass often without another soul around. Anze Lazio on Praslin Island is a top pick for many, a blindingly white sand beach bordered by calm, clear water. Follow the rock line to the left of the beach facing the sea. There’s a good chance that you’ll encounter a friendly “resident turtle,” who seems to enjoy the company of humans, swimming right alongside them.

Take in the View from Morne Blanc on Mahe

Morne Seychellois National Park covers a fifth of Mahe Island, home to the country’s highest mountain, Morne Seychellois. The park offers scenic trails for hiking. Including a route that winds through the rainforest up to the peak for a breathtaking view of the island. The Indian Ocean and Mahe’s island neighbors.

Explore Valle de Mai National Park

Valle de Mai National Park on Praslin Island is ideal for romantic walks. It’s the home of the rare Coco de Mer palm which produces a huge, 40-pound seed, the world’s largest. Take a stroll along the scenic paths that meander through the lush forest bringing views of the abundant flora and fauna. Then suddenly opening to panoramic vistas of hidden sandy coves and serene, brilliant blue waters.

Mingle with Free-Roaming Tortoises on Curieuse Island

Curieuse is one of the world’s few places where giant Aldabra tortoise roam wild. With more than 300 here, ranging from just-hatched babies to over 100 years old.

There you can hop in and snorkel among the turtles and all sorts of exotic fish. Then, end your day with a refreshing drink and delicious Creole meal in one of the tiny beachside eateries.

Birdwatching

As a birdwatching haven, the Seychelles boast some of the world’s rarest birds. Including the Seychelles black parrot, Seychelles paradise flycatcher and Seychelles white-eye. Along with some spectacular seabird colonies, with birds such as sooty and white terns. Frigate birds and the white-tailed tropicbird.
