We’ll soon depart for Rab Island where a local guide will meet you for a tour of the atmospheric Old Town. It’s almost always filled with artists who create and display their works here. Learn more about its history while marveling at its architecture, which includes many Habsburg-era villas. A tasting of Rab’s signature cake, a recipe local nuns invented for a visiting pope, will be included with time to explore on your own afterward.

Locals and visitors alike gather here to enjoy the Greeting to the Sun (illuminated by the sun) and the Sea Organ, which utilizes the waves to play enchanting melodies. It’s especially magical at dusk with a backdrop of what Alfred Hitchcock once called the world’s most beautiful sunset. This evening on your ship, the Captain’s Dinner with live music will be hosted.

You’ll walk the scenic winding paths with opportunities to take advantage of the many photo ops along the way. Our next destination is vibrant Split which owes its existence to Roman Emperor Diocletian who decided to retire here, ultimately building the 4th-century palace complex you see today. It contains some of the most well-preserved Roman architecture that still stands today as you’ll see while strolling through the maze of narrow streets and alleys with your local guide. You’ll get to peak into the palace cellars too, featured in “Game of Thrones” as the dungeon where Daenerys trained her dragons. The rest of the day is yours – we recommend strolling the seaside promenade, enjoying dinner here or in one of the palace restaurants.

Stepping inside, you might think you stepped into a fairytale with the enchanting narrow streets laid out in a fishbone pattern to protect residents from the elements. Afterward, you might join us for an optional Dalmatian dinner.
