Whether an adrenalin junkie, nature lover, wildlife enthusiast, culture vulture, photographer, or a combination of all, a tour of Nepal has plenty to keep you occupied. The Kathmandu Valley, a UNESCO heritage site, is a collection of ancient temple and palace complexes, each of which used to be its own kingdom. Patan and Bhaktapur, resplendent with unique and intricate Newari architecture, are a must.
The small town of Pokhara, with the Phewa Tal Late at its center, dominated by the sacred and (unclimbed) Fishtail Mountain, is one of the best-loved adventure capitals of the world. Rafting white water and gentle treks in the foothills give way to the more challenging Annapurna Circuit and Everest Base Camp treks. A scenic drive or a short flight away are the grasslands and jungles of Chitwan and Bardia, home to an array of wildlife including elephants, one-horned rhinos, sloth bears, and the Royal Bengal Tiger.
There’s an extraordinary amount of diversity for such a small country, from culture to adventure to wildlife. You’re bound to be endlessly fascinated by all that Nepal can offer.

The Kathmandu Valley is truly remarkable, boasting seven UNESCO World Heritage sites within a relatively small area. The sheer concentration of cultural and historical landmarks in this region is truly awe-inspiring.
Further west, by the serene Phewa Tal Lake and dominated by the sacred and unclimbed Fishtail Mountain, is the adventure capital of Pokhara, the base for treks in the Annapurnas.
Immediately north of Pokhara, the Himalayas rise up and offer the famous Annapurna Circuit, for epic treks spanning anything from one day to two weeks.
To the south, on the grass plains of the Terai, is Chitwan National Park, from where one can venture by boat or jeep on an exciting journey in search of tigers or one-horned rhinos.
Known to Nepalis as Sagarmatha National Park, the Everest region boasts the world’s highest peaks. This trekkers’ haven offers awe-inspiring vistas, Sherpa culture, and unparalleled mountain experiences.
The best time to visit Nepal is typically the Spring (March to May) or Fall months (September to November). Both periods offer clear skies, mild temperatures, and vibrant landscapes, making them ideal for trekking and sightseeing. Spring brings blooming rhododendrons and comfortable weather, perfect for outdoor activities. Winter (December to February) is excellent for low-altitude trekking and exploring cultural sites in the warmer regions.
Monsoon season (June to August) brings lush greenery but also heavy rains, making trekking challenging in higher altitudes. Ultimately, the choice depends on your preferences, whether it’s trekking, cultural exploration, or enjoying Nepal’s natural beauty.
