Zambia is a very wild and exhilarating safari destination and in fact, one of our personal favorites. As a landlocked country, Zambia’s national parks and expansive savannahs make up for the lack of ocean. There are a handful of exquisite national parks and reserves across Zambia, but the most popular combination is the South Luangwa and the Lower Zambezi National Park.
First and foremost, the game-viewing in the South Luangwa National Park is highly rated amongst safari enthusiasts and photographers. Between the months of June and October, regular sightings of elephants, buffalo, lion, giraffe, hyena, zebra, and hippo can be seen, among much more. Leopard sightings are also very reliable, with the opportunity to see them on both morning, afternoon and night drives. The African Wild Dogs also pass through this area on a regular basis, but in their nature to cover a huge amount of land.
Fly onto the Lower Zambezi National Park for a very diverse safari experience. With the Zambezi River being the main focus of this park, safari activities offered here include game drives, walking safaris, boat safaris, canoe safaris and catch-and-release fishing. Zambia is also home to one of the Natural Wonders of the World – Victoria Falls. With light-aircraft planes connecting all national parks and destinations, you can enjoy a range of destinations.
