Day by Day Itinerary

Days 1-5
Serengeti National Park
You will be met on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will connect onto the domestic flight into the Serengeti National Park. This will be in a light aircraft plane and upon landing in the Serengeti, you’ll be able to spot elephants and buffalo from above. As you land at Seronera airstrip, you will be met by your safari guide and begin your safari back to Namiri Plains. Once you’ve checked into the luxury lodge, you will enjoy a delicious lunch and a chance to freshen up. In the afternoon, you’ll head out on your afternoon game drive and enjoy drinks watching the sun set over the African savannah. Enjoy 5 days at Namiri Plains, with morning and afternoon game drives, filled with incredible sightings and special photo opportunities.

  Located in the eastern plains of the Serengeti National Park is the breath-taking camp named Namiri Plains. This camp is recognized in the safari industry because of its location. These grasslands in the eastern part of the park were closed for over 20 years to allow the cheetah population to restore naturally, without human interruption or distraction. Since its opening to the public, Namiri Plains is one of the only camps in this area so a safari here will feel completely private and secluded. Not only that, but the cheetah population has grown enormously and as a result of its success, you will not have a stay in Namiri Plains and not see a cheetah! In fact, the big cat population here is really impressive – lion prides and leopards can also be seen in this area. The camp itself is novel in its design and one of the most luxurious in all of Tanzania – offering private decks, a swimming pool, chandeliers, a library and study, private decks and free-standing baths.

This area was closed to the public for over 10 years during a cheetah repopulation initiative. Now it’s open, only two major camps sit in this area so your game drives will feel very private. And after its successful project, it’s one of the best areas for big cats – cheetah in particular.   As part of the Nomad portfolio, Lamai is a beautiful and loved safari camp in the Serengeti National Park in northern Tanzania. The camp sits on the Lamai Wedge, above the vast savannahs and surrounded by a collection of giant boulders. The design is fitting with its surroundings – as neutral colours, tones and textures are used to compliment the natural kopjes. The camp is formed of eight rooms, each with large ensuite bathrooms, private verandas and expansive views across the plains. For the communal areas, there is a swimming pool, a natural rock deck offering a great viewpoint, and open air and indoor dining areas.   Overlooking the game-filled plains, Sayari Camp is situated in the north of the Serengeti National Park in northern Tanzania. Between the months of June and October, the wildebeest migration herds will be up in this area, feeding on green pasture before taking their opportunity to cross the Mara River. The benefit of being in a camp like Sayari is that the guides will know where the herds are every day and will have a greater insight into when they will make that river crossing and at which crossing point. The camp itself was just redesigned and now offers an even more luxurious and contemporary feel to it. Each of the 15 suites have walk-in showers, free-standing outdoor baths, beautiful décor and private verandas. Zanzibar
You will say goodbye to the staff at Namiri Plains and your safari guide will drop you at the airstrip to fly to Zanzibar. Here you will have 5 nights in a luxury lodge called Matemwe Retreat. Stone Town & Depart
On your final day, you will be transferred to Stone Town where the international airport is located. Depending on what time your flight is, we will organize a guided tour of Zanzibar’s capital – Stone Town. Whether it is a morning or afternoon tour, a guided walk through the UNESCO World Heritage Site will give you an insight into how life once was, and how it is today for the local Zanzibar people.
