What to Do in Bali

  • Walk through the rice fields

The rice fields, also known as rice terraces, offer the chance to enjoy romantic strolls among strikingly lush beauty. At Tegalalang Rice Terraces, you can capture a selfie together with one of the “Love Bali” signs and enjoy the view from a zipline or jungle swing too.

  • Indulge in a spa treatment

Bali is renowned for its spas, with so many it’s impossible not to bump into one. Many come complete with zen gardens and serene ponds to enjoy along with blissful treatments. Perhaps a couples’ massage, which not only relieves tension but causes natural chemicals to be released in the body that increases happiness.

  • Explore the beautiful beaches

There are many spectacular beaches in Bali, with Seminyak home to stretches of white sand stretching for five miles. Sanur is a great beach town with a more than three-mile-long stretch framed by calm water and a reef, while White Sand Beach, or Virgin Beach, offers quiet seclusion on the remote east coast.

  • Visit Mount Batur

Don’t miss catching a sunrise from Mount Batur, a volcanic mountain with a more than 5355-foot-high summit. Along the way, you’ll take in breathtaking views of the island. Tours are available to bring you to the top and can be concluded with an exciting ride down on a mountain bike.

  • Enjoy Tea at the Hanging Gardens

Hanging Gardens is surrounded by lush greenery in the heart of the Ubud Jungle, located in the remote highlands with magnificent views no matter where you are on the property. A living tropical paradise, it’s the ideal place for romantic afternoon tea, enjoyed with light bites on a semi-outdoor terrace.

When to Visit Bali

Bali experiences two seasons: dry and rainy. July and August are the peak of the dry tourist season, running from April to October, with the seas calm and rain few and far between. It’s the best time for swimming, snorkeling, diving, and other water sports. The rainy season, November through March, is the low, quieter season, although the temperature is about the same year-round, ranging from 80 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit (about 27 to 32 Celsius). In between the rain, you’ll still enjoy plenty of sun. The only downside is that some of the interior roads may not be accessible due to flooding.
