Luxury Singapore Honeymoons

Located where the South China Sea and the Malacca Straits meet at the base of the Malay Peninsula, Singapore offers one of the glitziest honeymoon destinations as a dynamic and wealthy city-state. It’s a melting pot of cultures, including Arab, Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Western cultures, while welcoming visitors who will be in awe of the towering skyscrapers, world-class shopping, and buzzing nightlife. The nickname “Garden City” reveals the many green spaces and parks that provide a serene oasis in the middle of it all.

Singapore offers many memorable activities for couples to enjoy on their honeymoon. You might join a river cruise to see notable landmarks like Clarke Quay and Marina Bay. Or book a chartered boat excursion that’s personalized just for you and your new spouse. There are beaches for swimming and sunbathing like the beautiful Sentosa too. Then toss in romantic strolls through colorful Gardens by the Bay, warm evenings admiring the Marina Bay skyline, romantic dinners in Michelin-star restaurants, late nights in swanky clubs, luxurious accommodations, and the chance to renew your love at Yueh Hai Ching Temple, the “Temple of Love.” Singapore offers the perfect ingredients for kicking off your lifelong love affair.

Where to Go in Singapore

  • Marina Bay

To experience the modern, glitzy side of Singapore, Marina Bay is the place to go. While it was open sea only a generation ago, it now sits on reclaimed land with luxury malls and glittering skyscrapers. It’s where you’ll find the famous “supertrees” at Gardens by the Bay and the Singapore Flyer where couples can soar above the city skyline. On a clear day, the views can stretch all the way to Indonesia and Malaysia at its highest point. The highlights of the ride, however, are the opportunities for stealing a kiss while enjoying the views of Marina Bay, the Colonial District, and CBD.

  • Bugis

While Bugis, the most iconic area in Singapore, was once along the waterfront, today it’s nestled in the heart of downtown, a convenient location between the Quays, Orchard, Kampong Glam, and Chinatown. It’s a prime destination for visitors and locals alike, with many hot shopping spots like Bugis Junction with stores catering to all tastes. One can enjoy a glimpse of life in the past with traditional shophouses as well as head to a premier rooftop bar to soak up the atmosphere while gazing out at the city skyline. There are numerous outstanding hotels and restaurants in this area too.

  • Chinatown

This district was designed specifically for the migrant Chinese population and offers an enticing mix of old and new. It’s a bustling place with narrow streets that are an important part of its past although you’ll see plenty of modern ones too. There are tea traders, medicinal centers, and multiple intriguing temples like the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. Learn more about Chinatown’s history and culture at the Chinatown Heritage Center and immerse yourself in the aromas and flavors at Chinatown Food Street, one of the best places to sample Singaporean food on the island with many traditional dishes all in one place.

  • Sentosa

Sentosa is an enchanting island that offers heart-pounding thrills and opportunities to enjoy the tropical vibe together by lounging around on a beautiful beach in between swims in the sea. It’s accessed by bridge just minutes from the mainland and includes Universal Studios Singapore where you can ride rollercoasters, get wet on exciting water rides, rock climb, catch live shows, and more. If you’re looking for something a bit more subdued for, enjoy the serene setting at Tanjong Beach. There are many beach bars and restaurants too, making this island ideal for a romantic day out enjoyed in your best beachwear.

When to Visit Singapore

Singapore is unique in that there really isn’t a season better for your visit although certain holidays and events can increase prices and the crowds. The weather is consistently hot and humid, with average high temperatures in the upper 80s Fahrenheit. While there isn’t a definable high and low season, crowds peak around the Christmas holidays due to the many winter travelers, and again in June and July, coinciding with the Great Singapore Sale. This is also when clearing fires produce smoke that can cause eye and throat irritation, so you might want to consider visiting between August and October, or mid-January through May.
