When to visit Czechia

Winter

Winter is the low season although December can be busy with the many Christmas markets filling the main squares throughout the country, bringing the chance to savor mulled wine and delicacies like trdelník, a traditional hot sugar-coated pastry. On New Year’s Eve, Prague is the place to be, with continuously flowing beer and fireworks. The rest of winter is quiet, a fabulous time to enjoy places like the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle blanketed in snow. You won’t have to worry about big tourist crowds and you’ll enjoy some of the most affordable accommodation rates of the year.
