A spectacular 13-night honeymoon visiting some of the highlights of Southern Africa. Spend three nights exploring the wine, food, and culture of Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, before enjoying three nights in Leeu House in the Cape Winelands. Then head to the iconic Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve to go on safari in one of the most wildlife-rich areas in Africa. Seeing the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) in one game drive is a regular occurrence! You’ll stay in a luxury lodge here in the heart of Sabi and enjoy morning and afternoon game drives.

You will then fly to the remote Azura Benguerra Island in Mozambique, transferring to your island lodge by helicopter. Spend five days on the pristine white beaches of Benguerra Island, you can relax on the beach or explore the islands and marine wildlife.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1
Cape Town
Welcome to Cape Town. A driver/guide will meet you at the airport for a transfer to your hotel in Camps Bay, allowing you to gaze out at both the beach and the city’s beautiful mountains. You will have three nights on a B&B basis, and there is plenty to do to fill your time.

On the second day, you will have a private tour of the Cape Peninsula. In the morning, you will drive along a road that winds between the Atlantic and the mountains to the southwestern tip of the African continent. Enjoy a stop in the charming Hout Bay and at several gorgeous viewpoints that provide outstanding photo ops. Your guide will bring you to Boulders Beach, home to a famous penguin sanctuary, before taking you to a beach only known to the locals where you can relax on the sand right with the tuxedoed birds.

Other optional excursions include a tour of Robben Island, a Cape Town food and wine tour, Rent a sea kayak to get up close and personal with Cape Town’s marine life, visiting the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens has a café, walks and some of the most beautiful gardens in the country, among many others. Cape Town also has wonderful hiking trails through the mountains and reserves. These can be guided or self-guided.

  Located on a private quay in the V&A Waterfront, the Cape Grace is the epitome of luxury. The hotel is surrounded by the ocean, with a stunning backdrop of Table Mountain. The hotel is a short walk to the busy hub of restaurants and shops along the waterfront. Although this is a large hotel with 120 rooms, guests still receive a highly personalised service. Cape Winelands
Journey into the Cape Winelands where endless vineyards cover the landscape less than an hour from Cape Town, where you’ll learn about the region’s wine while tasting with some of South Africa’s top winemakers. Discover the story of Pinotage, the indigenous grape created in 1925, by the grandson of viticulturist Abraham Perold who first cloned it. A cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault, it’s surprisingly bolder than both its progenitors.

At the next wine farm, you’ll enjoy a wine and food pairing. This tour is tailor-made to your wine tastes, so let us know what you enjoy! You will spend two nights at Leeu House which is located in Franschhoek. Its location is fantastic, and you are able to walk along the main street to enjoy many of the highly-rated restaurants there.

  Located in the Franschhoek wine valley is Babylonstoren. This is one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms and today, a visit or stay at Babylonstoren gives you the opportunity to see the hard work that goes into all elements of the farm – from the agricultural upkeep of the locally-grown vegetables to the careful production of the grape and wine-making. The gardens throughout Babylonstoren are simply stunning. Whether you wander through the herb gardens, the tropical greenhouse, or the lavender fields, you’ll find great botanic diversity and so many beautiful aromas. Situated close to the town of Franschhoek and a stop on the Franschhoek wine tram, Babylonstoren is a popular place to visit for a day trip. With a small entrance fee, you can spend the day at Babylonstoren, wandering through the gardens and eating at one of its many restaurants, offering a farm-to-fork platter. If you are looking for somewhere special to stay for a couple of days in the winelands, we cannot recommend the farm hotel at Babylonstoren enough. The room categories at Babylonstoren include garden cottages (both one-bedroom and two-bedroom cottages), replicating a traditional and authentic farm-stay experience. There are also 9 one-bedroom farmhouse suites, and 6 fynbos cottages (4 two-bedroom and 2 one-bedroom cottages). Day 6 - 8
Sabi Sand Private Reserve
You will be transferred back to Cape Town airport this morning for your flight to the Sabi Sands – the most famous group of private game reserves in Africa. The Sabi Sand Reserve shares a 50km unfenced boundary with the main Kruger National Park allowing the wildlife to wander freely through a huge area. Two perennial rivers, the Sabi and Sand Rivers sustain the diverse fauna and flora of the area, which enjoys one of the highest and most bio-diverse wildlife populations of any reserve in Africa.

The Sabi Sands is a private reserve, this means that only lodge guests can explore the reserve. There are no crowds and you can enjoy the beauty and peace of the African bush. You will stay for 3 nights in the most luxurious of lodges – Dulini. Here, you will be on an all-inclusive basis so all of your meals, drinks, and safari activities are included.

As your activities are tailored to your interests, what you do today will all be determined by that, but one thing you can expect is every moment to be different. Perhaps you’ll wake up to see kudus grazing just steps from your accommodation or you’ll witness elephants wandering by as you watch the sun come up. At night, you might head out for a game drive to track leopards. The wildlife is all around, whether you’re at your lodge or taking part in a variety of adventures. With four days here, you’re likely to leave with a long list of sightings.

  Dulini Lodge Overview
  This is a five-star family owned and run lodge that is located in the prestigious Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, famous for offering some of the best wildlife sightings in Africa. The area is known for its leopard population, normally very difficult to spot in the wild, they are seen daily in the Sabi Sands. The reserve also permits game walks, where you can go out into the reserve on foot with your ranger. The lodge comprises of six thatched suites along the banks of the river. Each large suite has a private plunge pool and an outside deck with seating. Inside is a lounge area, free standing bath tub, outside shower and a large bed with a canopy of mosquito nets. The suites have fans to cool them down and are decorated in a contemporary African style. You can relax on the extensive wooden deck while the outstanding staff meet your every need. You’ll then take a helicopter flight across to Azura Marlin Beach to stay for the next 5 nights. This is a stunning property in the Azura portfolio, located on the southwest shore of Benguerra Island. With a maximum of 10 villas nestled along the white-sand coast and an exceptional team of staff and chefs, you’ll be in paradise.

Departure
